Why can I reclaim hidden fees?

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has banned the practice of UK car dealers charging hidden commissions and pushing higher-interest-rate PCP loans. If you signed up for a PCP loan and your dealer didn’t disclose the commission they received, either verbally or in your written finance agreement, you might be eligible to claim.

The FCA announced the final details of its redress scheme in March 2026. However, the scheme is now subject to multiple legal challenges. Therefore, there is now a delay in when payouts are expected. The case isn't expected to be heard before October 2026, so consumers aren't likely to receive compensation until late 2026 at the earliest. For more information, please refer to the FCA's website.

The letter of authority grants us the legal authority to contact the lender on your behalf and ensures that we can handle your claim effectively. We will be in touch if we need any more supporting documents from you.
The FCA published its final redress rules in March 2026, stating that it expects most consumers to receive around £829 per agreement, though some will get more and others will get less. The methodology for calculating redress depends on various factors. The FCA says that in the most serious cases, which only affect a small number of agreements, consumers will get back 100% of the commission paid, plus interest. For most consumers, compensation will be based on the average of the estimated overpayment and the commission paid, plus interest.
